Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the CricCuts mobile app (package com.criccuts) and this website (together, the "Service"), operated by Gokul Sundar ("CricCuts", "we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use CricCuts. If you are under 18, you may use it only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. By using the Service you confirm you meet these requirements.

2. The Service

CricCuts helps you turn raw cricket footage into highlight reels, with processing performed on your device. The Service is provided on an early-access / evolving basis: features may change, break, or be removed, and builds may be distributed outside an app store (for example as an APK). We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will detect every moment correctly.

3. Your account

Some features require an account created via Firebase Authentication. You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping any sign-in method secure. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time — see Account & Data Deletion.

4. Your content and footage

You keep all ownership of the videos, clips, reels, and other content you create or import ("Your Content"). CricCuts does not claim ownership of Your Content. Because processing is on-device, we generally do not receive Your Content at all.

You represent and warrant that:

• You own Your Content or have all rights and permissions needed to use it with the Service;
• You have obtained any necessary consent from people who appear in your footage (and from a parent/guardian for any minors), as required by law and by the venue or organiser; and
• Your Content and your use of the Service do not infringe anyone's rights or break any law.

To the limited extent we process Your Content to provide features you request, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to do so. We claim no rights beyond what is necessary to operate those features for you.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service for any unlawful, infringing, harmful, or abusive purpose;
• upload or share content you don't have the right to, or that violates others' privacy, publicity, or intellectual-property rights;
• reverse-engineer, decompile, tamper with, or attempt to extract source code from the app, except where the law expressly permits;
• interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its providers; or
• resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our permission.

6. Intellectual property

The CricCuts app, website, name, logo, and all related software, design, and content (excluding Your Content) are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms.

7. Third-party services and platforms

The Service relies on third parties (such as Google Firebase) and may let you share to platforms like Instagram or YouTube. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, which we don't control and aren't responsible for.

8. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law. You use the Service at your own risk and are responsible for keeping your own backups of important footage.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CricCuts and Gokul Sundar will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, footage, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or INR 1,000.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CricCuts and Gokul Sundar from any claims, damages, or costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms or of anyone's rights.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnity) will survive.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to applicable law, the courts of competent jurisdiction in India will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any issue informally.
