Why CricCuts

Built for the player, not the editor.

Point it at raw session video — filmed on one phone, propped on a kit bag. It does the rest, and the rewinding, scrubbing and cutting just disappears.

Hears every middle

A small AI model on your phone pinpoints each bat-on-ball impact in seconds — even in a busy net with shots flying next door.

Made for real footage

A phone on a kit bag, a camera nudged between overs, nobody behind the lens. CricCuts re-frames itself, so you never set anything up twice.

A reel to your length

It sorts the real shots from the duds and packs your best moments into exactly the length you ask for.

You stay in control

Review every pick on a clean timeline, tap to teach it what’s real, trim, then export. Nothing is decided for you.

Private by design

No upload, no account wall, no cloud bill. Your footage is analysed and rendered on your phone and never leaves it.

Cinematic finish

Slow-mo, instant replay, a comic POW! on the exact frame of contact and animated backdrop scenes — in a couple of taps.

Questions, answered

The quick answers.

Can I try it without filming anything?

Yes — download a free five-minute clip of a real net session, with genuine bat-on-ball sound, and run it through CricCuts to see how it finds and cuts highlights. It's the kind of footage the app is built for, so it's the quickest way to watch a reel come together before you film your own. You'll also find it inside the app, under the FAQ.

What's the ideal way to film?

Put the phone somewhere it can stay put, start recording, and leave it alone until you're done. One long, unbroken recording of a fixed view does more for your reel than a newer phone or any setting in the app. Frame it wide enough that the batter stays in shot through the whole shot — then don't zoom or re-aim.

We're batting in adjacent nets — will that confuse it?

It's the hardest case, and worth setting up for: a good shot in the next net sounds almost exactly like a good shot in yours. Draw a snug box around your batter, set where you filmed from and switch on "I can hear others" (Batter mode), and curate afterwards to drop the strays. If you have a say in it, film from an end where the next net isn't directly behind your batter.

Are my videos uploaded anywhere?

No. Never. Your footage is analysed and cut entirely on your phone — not uploaded, streamed or copied to a server, with no setting that changes that. It isn't a promise about how we handle your data; the videos simply never leave the device.

Does it work without internet?

The part that matters does — finding highlights, cutting and exporting all run offline, as do the Academy and the DLS calculator. A connection is only needed for occasional extras like signing in and downloading the commentary keyword model the first time. In the nets with no signal, you're fine.

Do I need an account?

No — "Continue as guest" skips it entirely and everything still works: finding highlights, editing and exporting never needed an account and still don't. Signing in with Google is there if you want your profile and any reels you choose to publish to follow you, and it never changes what's analysed on your phone.

Our mission

Bigger than a highlight reel.

Technology for everyone

Useful AI on the phone you already own — offline, with no upload, no data plan and no cloud bill.

Talent that gets seen

Good players are everywhere. We want them spotted wherever they play, and given the recognition and feedback they deserve.

Coaches who reach further

Less time scrubbing footage, more time coaching — so one good coach can help many more players.

Sport in more lives

Film it, cut it, share it — and then go and play again.

Where we’re headed: a new-age sports media platform, starting with cricket — a direction, not something in the app yet. Why we’re building it →
